I don't know what they're descended from, but I do know that dogs are all considered one species now--I don't even think they're considered to separate subspecies. Therefore, breeding a diamond with a jungle is actually worse than breeding a St. Bernard with a Great Dane. People would call these dogs mutts? So, I guess DXJs are lower than mutts. They sure are pretty, though.
