Determining age & species

I'm new to pythons, and recently purchased what I think is a Jungle Carpet (that's what the pet store said, and it resembles pictures I've seen of other carpet pythons, if not jungle carpets).

Q. How can I determine if mine is a Jungle Carpet vs other carpet species.

Next question - the snake I purchased is right around 4 foot long. What methods can I use to estimate the age of my snake?
