Coastals grow quite a bit larger than cheynei, and I believe there are other slight anatomical differences (organ structure, scale counts, etc.) as well.

Why do you say they are not different subspecies?


:Because they are the same species for one, and for two, I don't think they are even different sub-species. But that's up for debate.
