I personally think carpets are great. I have one yearling coastal carpet (got her August 2002) who's only nipped me twice, once when I was adding a prey item to her feeding tub and once when I was taking her out of her feeding tub. My other carpet is a coastal/jungle cross and he's roughly 2-3 years old (got him last February). He has yet to strike at me at all and is very sweet natured. Both are great snakes to handle. :)
