First of all size is key. Get the right size enclosure, you are off to a good start. After that, heating, make sure you have a reliable source of heat with a thermostat. Next, make sure you have some ventalation. A substrate is key also, depending on the species, this may vary. Other than that a water dish is a must! What species will this be? The rest of the answers you need are pretty much breed specific.
