In Reply to: melamine comes in simulated oak-grain... posted by chris_harper2 on April 22, 2003 at 21:01:14:
::Chris ... is that material from a HI store ?
:Yes, Menards. It comes in widths up to 23 1/4".
:It is melamine, though. But that brings up a good point. Melamine coated particle board can vary in how it is produced whether it be thermofused or sprayed on or whatever other techniques there are.
:If one wants the most durable melamine they should probably go to a counter or cabinet specialty shop. The prices are quite a bit higher but the durability is a lot higher.
:But I only use it for racks and always put down a layer of contact paper so this is a non-issue for me.
.. lol same here i dont use it for cages either..
