Yes, you can put a humidifier inside the cage. I have one in my boa's cage right now. It's the thing with the blue top. I use an ultrasonic humidifier from Walgreens, it was around $30. It also puts out a lot of fog, you need to have a digital timer to go with it. I think it would be easy enough to build a box around it with a screen on top for the mist to come out of.

8' x 4' melamine sheets are around $25 at Home Depot. I don't know if it would hold up very well in a high-humidity application.
