Thanks for the info, pretty much what I was anticipating. Do you recommend skipping the A-life idea and just going with keeping a close eye on the dimmer? I think that I might be able to adjust the temp to be fairly constant in that room, then just take a close look on it when the weather is exceptionally cold or warm.

As for the digital proportionals, is the Helix worth the extra few bucks? I like the big apple one because it has a knob rather than adjusting screws. Any other details about them?
