The seller (who I trust) said that foil tape is what is causing the electric shock, and that it won't hurt me or the animals (through the rubbermaid/sterilite boxes)...nonetheless...

I am going to cover both ends of the flex-watt (hot areas) with electrical tape, then cover the edges with electrical tape (to hold the flexwatt down) and will see what happens.

I'll post results...thanks for the help/advice.
