I definitely have to say that this comes as no surprise to most of us. I think the investigation will show that the child was injured as a result of some sort of abuse. The fact that the reports say that she was constricted with no sign of bite marks makes it a little fishy to me. Whatever the situation it's a very sad story and the damage has been done to the herp community. Even if it's found out that the snake had no part in this, the headlines are what most people will remember and not the followup to it. Keep us posted because I would like to see how this plays out.
