I am sorry. I did not make myself clear. I plan to try and bred her later this year. I figure start cooling the middle of Oct or first of Nov. Keep them cool until mid Jan or Feb. The largest burm i am selling to a buddy. But i am fattening up my albino female to bred with my albino male.I have not decided on what i am going to bred with the other normal burm yet. I have kept notes and basically i know what went wrong, you just confirmed it for me.Thanks for the help.

: They should be cooled for 2 or 3 months, at night time lows of 77-78 degrees and day time highs of about 80-82 degrees with a shorter than normal photoperiod of like about 8 hours of light versus the usual 12 or 14 hours. While I have had great years not paying any attention to this and would even have 24 hour "days" (in the 80's), many feel that it increases your chances of successful copulation and fertility and fecundity. So one might as well do it, right? I do these days. I just to do all that I can. Anyway,... after the 2 or 3 months of cycling, bring them up a few degrees on both nights and days and increase the amount of daylight hours to 10 or 12 and put the male in with the female.
: There will be a lot of differing opinions on just what is the "right way" to do this,. but I feel that there really is no ONE "right way",... only a few wrong ways. But there are MANY right ways. Many breeders take their night times down to the low 70's. I don't do this just to avoid increased RI risk. But the "right way" is any way that leads to a successful breeding. I personally have never actually gotten infertile eggs from a snake that I personally bred. Sure, the usual 3 or 4 "slugs" per clutch, but that's normal. But the only whole clutch duds I have ever gotten came from snakes that came to me under the pretense of "already gravid". So there must be something right about the temps I use.
: Yes, you can get her back up to weight and mid year breed her. But why? Just be patient and wait the few short months for the natural fall-winter season/s. In my opinion it increases the chances of success. Good luck on your breeding.
