i personally use shredded aspen...but a lot of her keepers especially ones with a lot of animals use plain old newspaper...my burm likes to dig a lot for some reason...so i give him the aspen to dig in...he seems to like it a lot and from what i can tell doesnt eat it when he eats...hope it helps...
