Ok, I decided to give it a try with the q-tips. I put some room temp water in a sink, and I dipped his head in and took a q-tip and dipped that also. I then ever so gently started rubbing the eye along the edges and after about 5 minuted of doing this on anf off (to not stress him out too much, I was able to slide both of them off. He was acutally well behaved, as soon as I put the q-tip to the eye, he stopped squirming and just laid there very still. Phew! That's a relief, now off to get him a nice big fuzzy as a reward for his bravery!
