The name should read Pituophis catenifer derserticola aka Great Basin Gophersnake. melanoleucus is now reserved for the eastern forms of pine snakes.(P.m.melanoleucus(Northern pine), P.m.mugitus(Southern pine)and P.m.lodingi (Blk pine))

Just wanted to clear that up.
