If you are looking for something that will curl up on your hand and stay there like a boa then you have ruled out most of the colubrid family. (Kings, Milks, Corns.)
You will probably want to look at the Children's Python, Spotted Python, Rosy Boa, or on a slightly larger size the Hog Island Boa. A Hog Island male will max out around 5'-6' long and is not as heavy bodied as it's Colombian cousin.
