I think most are three toed, but there is one batch that I think may be mixed with eastern.
I indirectly planned the brood I guess. I built the pen to recreate a natural habitat which it is very close to except for a natural body of water (flowing stream, pond, etc). I've got a mix of males and females, and hoped they'd have babies and sure enough they did. I had 11 babies 2 years ago when I had fewer adults and a smaller less natural pen. 8 of those survived and are doing well today. I blame myself for 3 of them dieing as I didn't have the right environment for them at the time and quickly learned from my mistakes. Still, 8/11 isn't bad. Now I'm 25/25 with last years batch :)
