:OK, I'm back to ask the experts here...

:Just picked up a male boa that is gorgeous, but I can't figure out what he is. He *might* be a Guyana, he *might* be just a really, really pretty Columbian, or he might be a something else... How would I tell? I know you guys (and gals) have mentioned that scale counts, etc., are different for the different subspecies. Could someone lead me in the right direction to that information? If he's a Guyana, like I think he is, then he's staying here. If not, then, we'll see.. whatever he is, he's gorgeous - but has a major scar down his back. He's a lovely peachy/yellow/golden color, not like anything I've seen before. And his saddles don't look like anything I've seen before, either... they look like butterflies (not bat-wings).

:Help is again appreciated,

:Bonnie

It's extremely difficult, almost impossible, to identify(or try to) any snake without a photo. What you might consider "bat wings", someone else might consider "butterflies" and vice versa. Is there any way you can post a pic or send a pic to someone who can? Colors don't really help much either unfortunately. I've seen yellow BCI and BCC. A pic would really make it easier for anyone to help you.
