I have a gravid boa she is about 60 days past ovulation. I witnessed ovulation and it was huge. She is displaying all gravid behaviors refusing food, basking etc.

The area above her vent is noticably swollen and I catch her straining to push every once and awhile. The swollen area is localized only 4 - 5 inches above her vent and quite noticable when she is pushing.

I have tried soaking her repeatedly, gently massaging the area and I noticed no really hard objects like urate balls/stones. Nothing has happened and I am worried that when her time comes she may not be able to pass the blockage and therefore the babies.

Could I just be over reacting or worrying too much?

My other boas in the past when they were gravid passed fecal and urate material while being gravid though it was not as often.

If anyone out there has had a similar experience or can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I have spoken to vets in my area but many of them know less than I do and I am worried that I may do more harm then good by transporting her at this time and adding more stress.

Please help.

Thanks

Dan
