I can very well imagine who the things went regarding redtailboa.net.
When I applied for my domain www.boa-constrictors.com (my computer expert Christian Mühlhofer did it for me) a wrong billing contact was put into my file at verysign (the company that administers the domain names).
A person in the U.S. who has nothing to do with my domain gets the yearly invoices for my domain. I don't know if he complained or if he simply ignored the invoices, but last year it happened that my domain was shut-down for several days due to the fact that there was no payment.
The years before my internet provider was also informed (along with the billing contact) and the bill was payed.
And now comes what exasperates me:
All efforts to change the billing contact in my file were ignored by verysign. My provider sent them a load of emails and faxes, my computer expert did the same and I also contacted them several times.
Since they are earning no money in changing the adress they find it not worth the effort to such reply to emails and faxes. It is about time that they lose their monopoly in administering the domain names.
I have heard that they were already admonished by surveillance authorities.
I will carry on trying to change the billing contact. The only way to prevent it from being caught by pirates was to pay several years in advance.
Just wanted to tell you.
