Drop Tailed Lizards or common australian skinks

I have hundreds of common drop-tail skinks in the garden at home. They are all about 70mm - 120mm long. Has anyone has success catching these to keep in a tank? I have a 1.5m x 0.6m x 1m tank. How many should I include and what sort of material is best to put in the tank? What should I feed them? I would like to save a few from the kookaburras or they will all get eaten!
