we had a schnieder's (sp?) skink at work that did that. He had like a weirdo spine or something and he'd do taht again and again. Customers would be like "your skink is dead" and we'd have to tell them that was just his thing. WE adopted him out a long time ago (no one wanted to purchase a weird skink) and his owner says he's doing great and still doing that freaky thing.

Best thing to do is talk to a vet about it.
Your lizard is probably the weirdest BD in the world, congrats :)
