Wrist walking, -I have seen that in a green iguana I had years ago. MIS-diagnosed as the early signs of MBD, it turned out to be early onset of "Thiaminosis", the more common and less cited B-vitamin decifiency condition. B-vitamins are essential for any captive animal, for stress. It also aids neurological-muscular transmission. In the absence of adequate B-vitamin supplimentation, the early signs of Thiaminosis include, as you noted, 'wrist walking' as if walking upon a 'karate chop' arm, droopy eyelids and lips of the mouth that don't seem to quite 'line up' properly. In humans, mild B-vitamin decifiency makes the corners of the mouth 'rip' and always seem to be 'sore' and 'moist', -a common winter ailment.
B-vitamins are water-soluable, so there's no worry about over-dosing. Excess amounts are merely swept from the body via normal elimination.
Get some BREWER's YEAST tablets, -these are VITAMINS and not 'baking yeast' which is something totally different. Brewer's Yeast is a multi-complex B-vitamin suppliment, -available at any HBA section at K-mart or Wal-Mart, for instance (that's where I buy mine).
High B-vitamin items to try include a once or twice weekly thumb-sized sprig of fresh green PARSLEY or cilantro (a close relative of parsley), which is loaded with multi-B-Vites.
Parsley is also a diarhetic so it tends to 'clean the system', making the liver work harder and more efficienty, expect a softening of the stool and there may be a noticeable unpleasant odor. It may even be 'runny poop'. If so, cut back on the amount of parsely offered. Parsley CAN, if overdone, cause liver damage in the long-term. But if you give only a thumb-sized sprig twice or once weekly, -you'll be way below the threshold that could cause problems. (I was feeding a wad the size of a roll of nickels, daily, for about 6-months, and had some problems which took over a year to rectify, so, thumb-sized sprig weekly is enough.)
