SUBSTRATE for laying eggs???

I believe my bearded is gravid and will be ready to lay eggs soon. What kind of substrate should I have available for her to lay in? What temperature should it be at? Should it be moist? Secluded? In the light or dark? Right now I have her in a fifty five gallon tank with one end set up with about six inches deep of dry sand. I have a heat lamp on the area to keep the sand warm. Any thoughts or websites with how to info on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
