Well there is no guarantee that it wont cause problems, now or when he is an adult. I dont think any substrate comes with a guarantee unfortunately :( I used to use childrens play sand and I made sure my dragons were at least 4 months old and over 12 inches. But the last year or so I have used white non printed paper towels. Mainly because of the cleanliness factor. Cleaning seems much more thorough when using paper towels as a substrate. Sand is like a breeding ground for parasites, bacteria etc. Someday though I hope to be able to switch them to a more natural looking substrate! I have started to research the whole substrate thing again, but I am months away from any formal decision :) I know I over analyze things!LOL Oh well, I would rather be safe then sorry.

Goodluck with your decision, LM
