I have no problem keeping bp's together. As long as they have a sufficient quarentine period before being introduced, and are fed in separate enclosures. Mine tend to enjoy each other's company.
The only thing about it is that with a male and female you might end up with eggs. If you seriously intend to breed them, though, you'll probably want to keep them separately.
