From my understanding, Ringers are a form of piebald trait. You can send an email to Ralph Davis, who I think is very knowledgable on the subject. If you've got a good ringer, the best thing to do is to breed with another possible pie het and hope for a piebald...that would be "the bomb" so to speak.
