If you do happen to have a problem with the pegboard soaking up the humidity, I can recommend a quick remedy in the form of using FRP board, the waterproof splash board used in bathrooms and sold at stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, to cover both or the side facing the top of the tub. That is what i am using in my rack to keep the mdf from swelling.
