Try pushing the sperm plugs out (if there are any)...same motion as popping, just lighter pressure, repeated about a half dozen times should be sufficient, even if you've never attempted it before. Sperm plugs are usually more of a yellow color. Also, try a smaller gauge probe, the one you've been using might be a little too large to easily pass the length of the hemipene, especially if "she" is squirming (get a second set of hands to avoid injuring the snake during this procedure) If there are sperm plugs that can account for the weird depth.
