Many do make the mistake of assuming that bp's only come from hot, arid environments. As you said, that is untrue. Yes, there are termite mounds in togo/ghana (in the drier areas which there are some). From the research I have done, they have been found in agriculturals areas, dry savannas and densely wooded areas...go figure. Most of the pictures I have seen of native tribesmen/snake hunters taking ball pythons in the wild have shown a scrubby/savanna landscape with fairly dry ground cover (obviously, the ambient humidity levels underneath where bp's live are much higher). Still much to learn!
:.......yea...some (maybe all) of the elapidae are imported...and a few months to year or more old........
:(inland taipans I remember.....)....
:as for Togo/ghana./...are there even termite mounds there>?....
:or is it all rain forrest?....
:we all think Africa= hot and savanah....
:but if we all think again....and skip the mounds and lions...remember that Tarzan was in the trees all the time.....LOL...
:.....I too think dry and gerbils....but that is not true....
:my basement is so humid the cornsnakes are doing badly....(another clue to you all with corns and other colubrids)...
:balls are doing great with water all over the floor....corns are not happy......
:think I may have to get rid of all the corns........someday....
