One of the basis for the classification of snake species is the shape of the snakes' reproductive organs. I believe the male hemipenis is grooved in a certain fashion that will only "fit" into the female cloaca of the same species. Now, I don't know if the fact that they are both of the python species makes any difference at all, but I believe it is physically impossible for the two to mate because of the physical differences in shape.
Now, artificial insemination would be the only route I see to be possible. Or, possibly a mix of the DNA being raised w/o an actual snake "mother". But, that would be pretty pricy!! =)
