Emphasis on the word MIGHT. As someone who occasionally "rescues" rattlers from the back yards of my frightened neighbors, I can say that they don't always rattle before striking. Fortunately, I haven't been tagged (yet) (emphasis on the word "yet").

If anyone on here is thinking about keeping venomous reptiles, I *HIGHLY* recommend asking questions on the Venomous and Crotalidae fora. Keeping hots is a whole different ball of snake from keeping pythons, and not for the casual amateur.
