I use the ones from AHsuplie and have never had a problem i just checked no dronning or any noise on any station i tried.
Maybe i just lucky:)

:Ive tried 2 brands of ballasts; hamilton and custom sea life, and both have blanketed all the AM radio stations on my block with a dronning humm. Not to mention that my dad listens to short wave radio and he gets blasted by that infernial noise. Needless to say I had to sell off the entire system. I LOVED the light they put out and Im so PISSED that cant use power compacts without drowning out every radio station with RFI. Anyway, I just had to vent and maybe you guys would know of a "quieter" ballast.
:And yes, I did try shielding them with aluminum. Nothing.
