Cause of death?

My WC brown anole just died and I'm wondering if anyone could give me a few ideas of why he died. He had sufficient lighting, food and water but I noticed a few days before he died, his stomach was bloated. Also, on the right side of his body right in front of the back leg, there was a bulge. It looked like he had eaten something that hadn't digested. Thanks for your time,
