Sounds like you have been listening to too much Dr Laura!

I'm not sure why you are offering anole body parts but you should start offering food after their initial shed. Even though there are a few reported cases of alterna taking a first meal prior to the initial shed, I feel it is so infrequent that it is nothing more than a waste of time. Good Luck! DB
