We recently aquired a Southern AL. I hear conflicting versions about thier care and habitat, diet, etc.. My question right now is about thier water. We also have a snake, which we use water conditioner in his dish, is this needed for the AL? Also, he has a small aprox. 2" deep water dish, do they like to immerse themselves or is this okay? He has obviously been ok thus far, so should I even bother trying to do things by the book at this late stage???
