Agama Lizards from Ghana

I have received an agama agama lizard that was shipped in from Ghana (according to US Fish and Wildlife Customs Officials). This lizard appears to have no desire to open its eyes although it can and there seems to be no apparent reason why it won't. I'm concerned about that and what information experts may have that could help. My larger concern is a mite that is attached to the tympanum of the agama and the damage that could be caused by removing it. In addition to that (and perhaps my most pressing problem) is that I found, while inspecting the mite on the eardrum, that this lizard has a large quantity of nematodes squirming around on the inside surface of the tympanum! How am I going to rid this poor lizard of that infestation? Please help with any info that you have or sources where I might be able to find more info. Yes, the vet has been contacted. I'm impatient for information. Thank you.
