The first ban was imposed by US fish & Wildlife for C.I.T.E.S. animals. They could not in good faith know which president was the one legally allowed to sign the documents. The old president refused toleave the country and relinquish the government. Now he has left the country and the New president has imposed a temporary ban on all export from Madagascar C.I.T.E.S. and non-C.I.T.E.S. are included. He has stated that this ban is in affect until October. they are int he process of researching the quotas of the C.I.T.E.S. animals and might change them either for more or for less to be allowed export.
